Membership
We would love for people to consider Northcliff Union Church as their spiritual home and family. While we are open to all people, there is something special about membership, and we want to extend an invitation for anybody interested to explore joining NUC as a member. To become a member you need to have personally accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, and you agree to the church’s mission, Constitution and the Statement of Faith. Being a member of this church means seeking to promote and be part of celebrating community.
What does it means to be a member? Constitutionally, Northcliff Union Church is primarily a congregational-driven church. While spiritual matters are delegated to the Elders and the day to day runnings of the church are delegated to the Council, the material decisions of the church are subject to the congregation’s voting. This means that the members are directly involved in the health and direction of the church – as a member, your voice will matter. Added to that, while we welcome all people to serve, we reserve key leadership positions for those who are members in good standing. You will be able to fully express God’s gifts in serving in the life of the church.
We run membership classes once or twice a year, depending on need. After the classes you will be interviewed by one of the Elders, with the final vote at one of the bi-annual members’ meetings. Please contact the Church office if you are interested.. If you are already a member of another church, you don’t need to cancel your membership there to join us.
